How Helix became a cross-sport chase

It started in baseball.

Topps introduced Helix in 2024 Topps Chrome Baseball as a brand-new, colorful super short print built around the visual language of baseball. That first release established the formula: a compact star checklist, loud intertwined ribbons and scarcity that was meant to be felt before it was quantified. Helix was not a heritage revival. It was a new design that Topps quickly decided could travel.

Then the design escaped its first sport.

By the 2025 product cycle, Helix had crossed into Topps Chrome Basketball, Formula 1, Tennis and UEFA Club Competitions—the four markets mapped here. It has also appeared elsewhere in the wider Topps Chrome system, including MLS and football. The repeatable asset is the look, not a shared print run or a universal definition of ‘case hit.’

Basketball created the halo.

Cooper Flagg H-11 is the price outlier in the tracked four-sport group: the raw guide snapshot is $2,739.89, supported by only one surfaced raw sale and two PSA 10 results. Anthony Edwards H-2 sits in a more usable lane at a $571.89 raw guide with four exact raw sales attached. Same insert, different collector economics. Formula 1 has a champion tier—and depth.

F1 Helix falls at published odds of 1:700 Hobby packs. Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen form the established champion tier, while Charles Leclerc, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri currently cluster in the high-$200s to mid-$300s on raw guide snapshots. Max HLX-1 is the clearest sub-$1,000 anchor in the set: four exact raw sales range from $475.50 to $555.55.

Tennis is the best entry point to elite names.

The official 20-card checklist pairs current champions with legends. Carlos Alcaraz leads the indexed tennis group at $369.57 raw, followed by Rafael Nadal at $278, Novak Djokovic at $177.50 and Aryna Sabalenka at $139.69. Soccer makes format matter.

UEFA Helix is a ten-card checklist split across formats. Published odds are 1:4,478 Hobby packs and 1:1,103 Jumbo packs, so quoting one number without the box type is misleading. Estêvão Willian H-2 combines rookie demand with a $510 raw guide and four exact sales from $460 to $525. A top card is not automatically a buy.

The strongest Helix cards pair a major subject with exact identity, enough completed sales and fresh evidence. The ten new records added with this report all sit between $100 and $1,000 on raw guide snapshots. Nine currently clear every PULLED. evidence check; Oscar Piastri remains STRONG rather than FULL EVIDENCE because his newest surfaced sale is older than 90 days. That is the useful conclusion: Helix is a family worth mapping, not a shortcut around disciplined comps.
