Four words that should never blur together.
Panini’s original-art insert family, recognized by comic-book illustration and an explosive wordmark.
A card advertised around an average case-level pull rate; it is not a serial-number guarantee.
The standard, unnumbered Kaboom card. Numbered Gold and Black versions are separate identities.
A completed sale matched by year, product, player, card number, parallel and condition.

It began as illustration—not a foil pattern.
Kaboom! debuted in 2013/14 Panini Innovation Basketball with a 20-card star checklist and roughly one card per case. Panini’s account of the project centers illustrator Gyula Németh and a deliberately comic-book approach: custom-drawn players, starbursts and the oversized KABOOM! wordmark. The original insight was simple. Scarcity brought the chase; illustration gave it a face collectors could recognize without reading the back.
The logo became a collecting language.
Most insert families need a product name or a refractor label to explain what they are. Kaboom! does not. The hand-drawn subject, explosive field and title operate like a three-part signature. Designs have changed—from silver refractor bursts to modern full-bleed color—but the card still reads as Kaboom from across a show floor. That continuity is why the name can travel between basketball, football and soccer without losing its identity.
Kane marks the early Premier League chapter.
The 2019/20 Prizm Premier League set carried a 20-card Kaboom checklist at about one per case. Harry Kane K-14 is the earliest soccer card in this six-card map and the cleanest bridge between the original silver comic-book treatment and the global football market that followed. Its market is thin: the latest surfaced PSA 10 sold for $1,625 on July 30, while a PSA 8 sold for $660. Those are condition-specific lanes, not a universal value.
Road to Qatar made national identity part of the art.
The 2021/22 Donruss Road to Qatar release moved Kaboom into an international-team frame. Mbappé #4, Lewandowski #6 and Neymar Jr #10 share one product and one design family, but their markets do not move as a set. Lewandowski has a tight raw cluster around $350. Neymar’s latest surfaced raw sale is older and his recent evidence is graded. Mbappé carries the highest raw guide of the three, but his most recent exact result in this record is a PSA 7—not a raw comp.
Yamal turned rookie status into a grail problem.
Lamine Yamal #7 from 2023/24 Donruss FIFA is the outlier. It combines an elite young subject, FC Barcelona, rookie-card designation and the most recognizable Panini insert brand in soccer. The result is a market where raw sales have reached several thousand dollars and PSA 10 results have reached five figures. That makes verification more important—not less. A blaster box with ‘Yamal Kaboom chase’ in the title is not the card, and a Gold or Black parallel is not the unnumbered base Kaboom.
Haaland shows the modern full-bleed generation.
The 2024/25 Donruss FIFA issue leans into saturated full-card color. Erling Haaland #13 is the strongest current liquidity signal in this six-card set: exact raw sales of $3,050, $1,425, $2,125 and $1,501 landed between July 2 and August 4, 2026. The wide range is the point. Even four recent transactions do not erase condition, timing or auction context; they establish a lane that should be inspected before an active ask is trusted.
Base, Gold and Black are different cards.
Modern Donruss Kaboom checklists can add Gold /10 and Black 1/1 parallels to the unnumbered base design. A shared player, card number and image do not make those versions interchangeable. Color, serial stamp and back details all matter. The database therefore treats the selected six as base Kaboom records and does not borrow a numbered parallel sale to raise their guides or heat scores.
Buy the exact card; search the family when supply disappears.
Every featured card now opens an eBay search built from release, product, Kaboom name, player and card code. If the exact card is unavailable, the fallback stays inside that card’s release and Kaboom checklist rather than dropping the collector into generic memorabilia. Inventory changes continuously. Confirm the physical image, seller, condition and recent completed sales before buying; a live listing proves availability, not value.
