The first Kaboom! cards were drawn by hand.
Kaboom! debuted in 2013/14 Panini Innovation Basketball with a 20-card star checklist and roughly one card per case. Panini credits illustrator Gyula Németh with the comic-book approach: custom-drawn players, starbursts and an oversized KABOOM! wordmark. The artwork made the insert easy to recognize, while the pull rate made it difficult to find.
The look survived the move across sports.
A hand-drawn player, an explosion of color and the KABOOM! title make the card recognizable. The design has changed from silver refractor bursts to full-bleed color, but those features remain. They give the basketball, football and soccer editions a family resemblance even when the product names differ.
Kane in the 2019/20 Premier League checklist.
The 2019/20 Prizm Premier League set carried a 20-card Kaboom checklist at about one per case. Harry Kane K-14 is the earliest soccer card in this six-card study, with the silver comic-book treatment familiar from the original basketball design. Recent sales are limited: the latest surfaced PSA 10 sold for $1,625 on July 30, while a PSA 8 sold for $660. Each price applies to that grade; neither establishes a value for every copy.
Road to Qatar made national identity part of the art.
The 2021/22 Donruss Road to Qatar release moved Kaboom into an international-team frame. Mbappé #4, Lewandowski #6 and Neymar Jr #10 share one product and one design family, but their markets do not move as a set. Lewandowski has a tight raw cluster around $350. Neymar’s latest surfaced raw sale is older and his recent evidence is graded. Mbappé carries the highest raw guide of the three, but his most recent exact result in this record is a PSA 7—not a raw comp.
Yamal’s rookie brings four- and five-figure prices.
Lamine Yamal #7 from 2023/24 Donruss FIFA combines a leading young player, FC Barcelona, rookie-card designation and one of soccer’s most recognizable Panini inserts. Raw sales have reached several thousand dollars and PSA 10 results have reached five figures. Check the listing carefully at those prices: a blaster box advertised as a ‘Yamal Kaboom chase’ contains no guarantee of the card, and Gold and Black parallels must be valued separately from the unnumbered base Kaboom.
Haaland’s recent sales span a wide range.
The 2024/25 Donruss FIFA issue uses saturated color across the card. Erling Haaland #13 has the strongest recent sales activity in this six-card study: exact raw sales of $3,050, $1,425, $2,125 and $1,501 between July 2 and August 4, 2026. Condition, timing and auction context may help explain that spread. Inspect the individual results before deciding whether an asking price is reasonable.
Base, Gold and Black are different cards.
Modern Donruss Kaboom checklists can add Gold /10 and Black 1/1 parallels to the unnumbered base design. A shared player, card number and image do not make those versions interchangeable. Color, serial stamp and back details all matter. The database therefore treats the selected six as base Kaboom records and does not borrow a numbered parallel sale to raise their guides or heat scores.

Each featured card links to an eBay search using its release, product, Kaboom name, player and code. The broader search stays within the same release and Kaboom checklist if the exact card is unavailable. Listings change continuously. Before buying, check the card photo, seller, condition and recent completed sales. An available listing tells you what the seller wants, not what buyers have paid.
